A Taste of Spring!

Here in the Northeast and in many parts of the US our thoughts are starting to turn to spring despite the chilly temperatures that linger on. The images of the sweet fragrant flowers we will see in a few of months always inspire me. One of the best displays in my neighborhood is at the Cherry Blossom Esplanade in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Each year they hold an enchanting festival, Sakura Matsuri. Stunning ladies dressed in colorful Kimono walk the grounds and perform dances and music on stage, traditional Japanese crafts are taught, wonderful food is available, and the cherry blossoms are everywhere. My Springtime Geisha was designed with all this beauty in mind.

Pictured on Polstitches Designs gorgeous hand dyed 28 count ‘fields of green©’ Lugana the geisha gathers clusters of cherry blossoms as they sway on the branches up above. Her billowing kimono catches the warming breeze and is delicately accented with brilliant Mill Hill beads and exquisite Kreinik metallic threads, making her a picture of gentle grace and a harbinger of the beautiful season ahead.

I wanted to share some photos of the festival too:
