Water Goddess Correction

Dear Friends-

I was just printing some charts of the Water Goddess and noticed that there is an error many of you may have already seen. You will find that I used the same symbol for colors 434 and 597. For the life of me I don’t know how this slipped by but please forgive the error. This should be easy to take care of as the two colors are not side by side in the design. The 434 is only in the light brown of her hair and  597  is one of the the middle blues in her dress. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns jelliottdesign@earthlink.net

A New Christmas Angel

In the current issue of Cross Stitch Collection (where you will find my Earth Goddess) you’ll see a preview of next month’s issue #189 featuring my new Christmas Angel. She’s stitched on 28 count ‘opalescent snow’ Cashel linen from Zweigart (3281/1111), the perfect backdrop for a snowy holiday scene. Gentle doves bring a message of Peace on Earth as they playfully drift about the angel’s elegant  velvet robes. Lots of beads and metallics add a sparkling touch and add a lovely rich texture to her dress.

Thinking of Autumn

October Cross Stitcher

Trick or Treat ©Joan A. Elliott photo courtesy of The Cross Stitcher

With it being above 90º here in New York this past week it’s hard to believe, but before we know it, Autumn will be here filled with bountiful harvests, cooler temperatures, and a Happy Halloween on it’s way. I’m delighted that The Cross Stitcher has chosen my Halloween Treat Bag for  the cover of the October issue. This playful witch and company are stitched on 14 count Grasshopper Bright Ideas Aida from Charles Craft and Kreinik’s beautiful new holographic threads add an extra special touch of magic. Instructions for making up the easy to sew quilted bag are included. Look for it on the newsstands or you can order directly from Amos Advantage.
