I had a wonderful time at the Cross Stitch Club Retreat in Solihull, UK last weekend. How lucky I am to have had the opportunity to meet all the stitchers who attended. Traveling with my fellow designer and friend Ursula Michael was a treat and seeing Jo Critchley and Michael Powell again, along with Faye Whittaker was a  delight. The general consensus is that a good time was had by all.

I did a special design called the Time Traveler for this retreat. Inspired by my Facebook friend Clare Bowman and her amazing steampunk outfits, she seemed perfect to conjure up thoughts of the British Isles. She is now up on the Order Chartpacks page for order by everyone. You will also find her at Polstitches Designs right now and I expect her to be available in the usual online sites very soon.

Thanks again to the amazing Fae Kuhn for organizing the retreat and making it such a fantastic success!

Switching Seasons…

I know that a lot of stitchers are thinking of projects for Christmas so I now have two new designs out to get you started stitching for the holidays.

First in Cross Stitch Gold Issue 132, on news stands now, A Visit from Santa. I’ve pictured the design on Polstitches Designs beautiful hand dyed ‘snow cap’ 28 count Jobelan. His bag is filled with all sorts of Christmas goodies and the design sparkles with Kreinik metallic threads and Mill Hill seed beads, making him very festive indeed!

Just hitting the stands in the UK today is my latest Christmas Victorian Lady. She is out for a snowy stroll in her holiday frock and her lush warm furs and looking pretty as a picture. You will find her in Issue 222 of Cross Stitch Crazy. Stitched on the palest blue fabric, the shimmering beads in her dress and hat reflect the twinkle of snowflakes all around her.

Victorian Christmas Motifs

Now out in the UK’s The World of Cross Stitching, my complete library of charming Victorian Christmas motifs. There are so many uses for these little designs. Have a look at the projects that Hannah and the team have put together  in Issue 158. Add them to pre-finished table linens, gift bags, candle wrappers, cards, ornaments, party favors, or make up a sampler of your own by choosing your favorite from the bunch and repeating one of the pretty borders all the way round. These  designs  are sure  to add a festive touch to all your holiday celebrations.

A Victorian Christmas

Hi Everyone-

Life is still a whirlwind  both at home and in the studio but I wanted to make a quick post of an upcoming design in Issue 176 of Cross Stitch Collection. Summer will soon be ending and I know all the magazines will now begin showing the latest Christmas designs. Many of you may be seeing  previews of my Victorian Lady in Cross Stitch Collection issue 175 and the team there have just sent me  the lovely styled photo to post (Thank you, Bob!) She is stitched on a softly colored 28 count antique violet Lugana from Zweigart. You’ll need a piece that is 22 x 20 inches.  I’ll be listing a floss list for you later on.

More news to come soon. Oh yes, to all of you that have ordered charts of the Spring Fairy and my Renaissance Ladies, many thanks for your patience. Shipping begins next week. I will also have my Summer Fairy chart for sale in a few weeks time and will let you know as soon as she is ready.
