Four Geisha

I am happy to have my ‘Four Geisha” chartpack now ready to ship. This design was done originally for a kit from Design Works Crafts quite some time ago. I’ve softened some lines in the faces and added beads and metallic thread to give it the shimmer and detail that bring it up to date.  To order, please click here for my Order Chartpacks page.

A Little Fun Christmas Stitching

New for Christmas

I know that we have just finished Halloween celebrations, but what better time to start on some new Christmas stitches! Both the Angel and Snowman ornaments are a quick and easy stitch done on plastic canvas, perforated paper, or Aida, all 14 count. If you prefer stitching on Aida or 28 count Evenweave, you can back your stitching with a heavy weight iron on interfacing and cut the shapes out. The interfacing will keep your fabric from fraying. Alternatively you can make up little individual pillow ornaments. Whichever way you decide to finish these bright, cheerful ornaments, just add a bit of string or ribbon at top and they will be ready to hang on your tree.

The Nativity scene reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. Stitch it up as a framed picture or door hanger to bring the serenity and peace of the Christmas season to your home.

Designing and Stitching for a Good Cause

Earthquake

I wanted to share this important project from my dear friends at Casa Cenina, a wonderful source for all things cross stitch in Italy. This charitable effort includes many of your favorite designers and all proceeds will go towards helping the many towns in Italy effected by devastating earthquakes during the past year. There is still much work to be done to restore these towns so please pass on the link so we can all help with the recovery.

JE234 The Time Traveler

I had a wonderful time at the Cross Stitch Club Retreat in Solihull, UK last weekend. How lucky I am to have had the opportunity to meet all the stitchers who attended. Traveling with my fellow designer and friend Ursula Michael was a treat and seeing Jo Critchley and Michael Powell again, along with Faye Whittaker was a  delight. The general consensus is that a good time was had by all.

I did a special design called the Time Traveler for this retreat. Inspired by my Facebook friend Clare Bowman and her amazing steampunk outfits, she seemed perfect to conjure up thoughts of the British Isles. She is now up on the Order Chartpacks page for order by everyone. You will also find her at Polstitches Designs right now and I expect her to be available in the usual online sites very soon.

Thanks again to the amazing Fae Kuhn for organizing the retreat and making it such a fantastic success!
