It’s Been A While…

Although I have not posted much lately, I finally have something new to show you. So here we are and it is almost  mid-June! Time flies way too quickly for me. Things have been busy here with design work, chartpack sales, my wonderful niece Christina graduating from college and then helping her find an apartment (not an easy task in New York, LOL!).

Now that summer is almost here I am very happy to show you what will be coming in the September issue #193 0f Cross Stitch Crazy magazine, on sale July 10th in the UK and digitally, and a few weeks after that in other areas.

Mermaid

Under the Sea
© Joan A. Elliott

Stitched on 28 count hand dyed ‘big bang’ Jobelan from Polstitches Designs, my newest mermaid floats in the soft colors of the sea. Strands of precious pearls drape gracefully around her  as she shimmers in the shadows and light of her underwater world. As always, I have used lots of beautiful Kreinik #4 braid to capture the light and Mill Hill beads to add depth and dimension. I loved designing her for a midsummer treat. I hope you will all enjoy the stitching!

One last note. I know that summer is a good time to begin a bit of holiday stitching so I will be posting some new chartpacks soon to give everyone an early start.. and yes, that will include a new stocking design. Happy June everyone!

You have done it again Joan!! Left me speechless! Not an easy task. She is wonderful. Can’t wait to get her-will likely be August here in Canada, but Rapunzel is keeping me busy. 🙂 Many thanks again Joan for all the hours of stitchy enjoyment. ❤

OMG! Super to hear and see what you have for us! CRAZY must be crazy to get this design, she’s beautiful, the ‘movement’ in this piece is astounding. We all ask how you do it, we just don’t care, just keep us in this wonderland of stitching! Super, super! Love, Rosemarie

She was worth the wait. You did an amazing job making it look as if she is in the sea. She could be next after I finish Earth Goddess, though I have the threads and fabric all set for Rapunzel and the Winter Angel and the Poppy Fairy. Wait, I think I have a problem!

I was wondering if you could give the stitch count for this cute little mermaid? I’d love to be able to plan ahead for fabric. =)

Dearest Joan, I just ordered my copy from CRAZY, I feared that I would never find one at Barnes and Noble, or JoAnn’s!! Can’t wait to get it and start it!
You know, we wait everyday with baited breath wondering what you have next for us. The suspense is killing us, can’t wait to see what you have designed including the new DMC colors!
(My Ladybird Fairy is 2/3rds done, I love it, the flaming color combinations is genius!) Love, Rosemarie
