The Snow Queen

Now that  winter weather is here in the north it seems the perfect time to introduce The Snow Queen. She is out this week in Cross Stitch Collection Issue 231.

When I started this design I thought of a delicate yet regal figure who was at home in the snowy forest and whistling winter winds, bundled in her warm cloak trimmed in the finest ermine. Her gentle guidance protects the many creatures that gather around her.  I loved adding the little forest friends to this design.

Brilliant glistening beads and metallic threads embellish her gown reflecting the snow sparkling in the early morning light and crown her like precious diamonds. The gemstone colors of her garment seemed just the right choice for this design. She is stitched on 28 count light blue even weave for the model and would look so lovely on a wonderful hand dyed even weave too.

I Really like your designs and have worked quite a few but I must say that this is one that looks lovely but which I would not work because of the fur around the cloak. Keep up the great designing but more designs with an alternative to fur please.
