Stitching for Christmas

Can it be that we are already thinking about the holidays? Well, as all stitchers know, Christmas projects start early and range from tiny ornaments, fun stockings, gift tags, and keepsakes to large banners and pictures. Here’s a new Christmas Teddy design I’ve done for you to help celebrate. On Sale  October 27th, in Issue #190 of Cross Stitch Collection, this cheery fellow is really prepared with sparkling baubles and ribbons and two sweet little robins to assist in the festivities. Glittering snowflakes stitched in lovely Kreinik gold metallic thread hang from the windows and shimmering Mill Hill beads add extra dimension to the design. Oh yes, I just wanted to mention that my Air Goddess should be in preview in the back of  this issue, so once I am certain of that I will be posting a preview of her too.

Also new are four small Christmas Angel designs I’ve done for Cross Stitch Card Shop Issue # 74. Lots of pretty metallic thread and red and gold beads make these an elegant way to make up some heavenly holiday greetings for those near and dear to you.

Finally, in The World of Cross Stitching Issue #169 are 35 motifs of fun Fairy Festivities. These little folks are having a fine time wrapping presents, hanging their stockings, building snowmen, and enjoying all things Christmas in their woodland home. Here are a few of the motifs from the collection:

In Issue #170 of World of Cross Stitching, you’ll hear Heaven and Nature Sing in my pretty woodland scene. Here you will find all your favorite forest friends getting ready for the special days ahead. This design was inspired by the wonders of nature at our place in beautiful Vermont. On many occasions we have seen deer, fox, and squirrels scamper across the meadow and bluebirds, owls, sparrows, and doves fly by in magnificent flight against the pure azure sky. Our apple and pear trees surprise us with a bountiful harvest every autumn and the woodland snow cover adds a special silent hush to this season of peace and good will. I am so pleased to share this design with all of you.

Oh yes, one more that some of you may have already seen in issue #78 of Cross Stitch Gold. It’s a jolly snowman skiing down the slopes on a brilliant winter night. This design was great fun to work on and I hope it spreads lots of holiday cheer!

Great designs as always. Can’t wait to get the Christmas Tree with the animals. I love all you designs, but as an animal lover, this one will look great being displayed each year. Also, can’t wait to hear more about some new things you have brewing.

Hi Joan! Love your designs! Just wondering if you plan on putting any of your newer designs into chartpacks as well? I was looking for the Toy Shop design that is in the Christmas Cross Stitch Favourites magazine, among a few other Christmas designs.. I was trying to order the magazine from the publisher, but they do not have anything available to ship to the US. I’ll have to keep searching, but I did want to ask if you did plan on putting up some more Christmas designs in your chart packs for purchase. Thanks for your time!

      Thanks Nicole-
I do have the Toy Shop design available as a chartpack. Email me for details. I have some new things to put up on the Chartpacks page and am trying to find the time to do it this week.
