A New Design

Just coming out in the newest issue, #75, of Cross Stitch Gold is my Native American Maiden. Anyone that has my Native American Cross Stitch book from David & Charles already knows how I love working with this theme. When Cross Stitch Gold proposed this commission I was thrilled to revisit it. The background scene is stitched in one strand to give an ethereal quality to the landscape and the gentle figure of the maiden is embellished with metallic threads and beads in traditional Native American colors.

I have some new things to show you from World of Cross Stitching too and will post  them within the next day or so. Back to the drawing board for now…

Oh that is stunning too Joan. I now understand the lack of updates, you really have been busy. I am so pleased that the UK mags really like your designs and keep bringing them to us. Happy times.

Is it true there is a male mate to follow? I so love your designs. I am still hoping to see some sort of gypsy woman as I am sure you would do one justice, as well as a summer dragon to compliment the moon dragon in your Bewitching book.

Yes! There is going to be a mate for the indian Maiden. I’ll post a piccie as soon as I am able.

    By the way-
The summer dragon and gypsy are on the ” to-do list” 🙂

Hi, recently bought the book Native American. While I am stitching the maiden , I noticed that the pattern does not match up where it should meet in the middle, the colours don’t correspond with the finished version .

      Hi Deborah-
Yes, there is misprint with the center row of the design missing. I will email the corrected chart to you.
